KBR is seeking to hire a Scheduler to support the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Range Scheduling Office. The candidate for the scheduler position will work with Government and Contractor range Project Managers to build and maintain launch mission schedules, which requires a thorough understanding of scheduling practices and processes. This includes evaluating Basis of Estimates (BOE) and developing baseline schedules, Integrated Master Plans (IMP) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).

Project coordinating efforts include evaluating and establishing work tasks, identifying milestones and logic relationships. The candidate will perform (schedule) risk analysis, identify and present options to resolve critical path issues; develop detailed and overarching schedules; and participate in analyzing effects upon various areas such as Engineering, Risk Management, Test, and Program Management.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Attend the Wallops Schedule Review Board
  • Perform version control of schedules
  • Provide guidance in the areas of developing and analyzing schedules, resource analysis, critical path analysis, baseline change requests, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor projects’ progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date
  • Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans
  • Routinely coordinate with, solicit input from and collaborate with project managers, logistics, safety and technical team leads to ensure all dependencies (internal and external) are documented and tracked.
  • Identify and document schedule and risk, manage the integrity of the baseline data, status and provide inputs in support of the strategies and processes.
  • Ensure that all mission required planning products and services are delivered in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Actively support all project planning and scheduling and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
  • Report monthly progress and status to program management.
  • Communicate the impact of schedule status and baseline changes to a senior level audience.
  • Provide day-to-day hands on support, guidance, troubleshooting, and achieve operational requirements
  • Supervise the duties of the duty schedulers

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, Accounting or related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • 5-10 years of experience in project scheduling along with expert level skills using Microsoft.
  • Mastery of MS Project mandatory
  • Experience in Jira and Primavera
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Project, IMS, SharePoint & Statement of Work reviews
  • Experience with scheduling practices and requirement to implement scheduling processes
  • Experience with monthly schedule status processes
  • Must be capable of working proficiently within a team, provide leadership when required to do so, and collaborate with senior managers
  • Must be able to conduct and present briefing materials to senior managers and Customer stakeholders
  • Good analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good working ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality
  • Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a Secret clearance

Desired Experience:

  • Developing and maintaining schedules for NASA hardware development a plus
