DG BOSS: Laborer/Sorter

Title:

• Performs safely various solid waste activities including solid waste refuse and recyclable materials collection, sorting, incineration, and disposal.
• Sorts and segregates recoverable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper, etc.) from incoming waste.
• Assists other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.
• Inspects incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required.
• Provides assistance to the Electro/Mechanical Superintendent with maintenance and repair work.
• Follows all company safety policies and procedures, including stopping equipment in emergencies.
• Performs other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Must speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
• A valid driver's license with the following license codes (B, B1, B2, D ) and can operate assigned vehicles is required.
• Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in confined spaces where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
• Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.

EDUCATION:

• Must be at least a high school graduate.

EXPERIENCE:

• Must have at least one (1) year of general labor experience.
• Must have knowledge of identifying various kinds of waste and metals.
