Procurement Specialist

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for procurement of materials and services as per procurement guidance i.e. processing requisitions, placing purchase orders (POs), following up on PO responses with suppliers
  • Performing bid evaluations and negotiating the best price with the supplier as well as ensuring timely delivery of the ordered materials and their compliance with the company’s quality plan.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis and benchmarking (including but not limited to prices, quality lead time), before making procurement decisions, to determine the most cost-effective options.
  • Maintain proper records of all procurement transactions.
  • Support budget holders and contract accountable managers with invoice verification.
  • Closely work and support Category team(s) with the evaluation of reliability, materials quality and pricing as well as negotiation with potential suppliers.
  • Proactively recommend and implement improvements to the existing P2P process and tools/ systems to improve efficiency and maximize automation.
  • Ability to optimize sourcing, transportation, and distribution of materials.
  • Collaborating with engineering and technical teams to define procurement requirements.
  • Assessing risks related to procurement decisions (e.g., supply chain disruptions, geopolitical factors).
  • Implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, data analytics tools, and automation platforms.
  • Leveraging data to make informed decisions and improve efficiency.


Educational background and Experience:

  • BS/MS in Finance/ Economics/ Business Administration/ Supply Chain
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Logistics and Materials Management is a plus

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Ability to resolve disputes between suppliers, end-users and other stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
