The Opportunity

In the role of Technical Lead for Transmission & Distribution, you will be accountable for providing technical leadership and direction to project teams. Your responsibilities also include enhancing the technical skills of the electrical team through support and training, particularly in the field of transmission line design.

You will operate under the general guidance of the National Electrical Lead, serving as the primary contact for transmission and distribution technical matters encompassing design, scoping, budgeting, and project oversight from feasibility to detailed design phases.

As the Technical Lead you will need to demonstrate extensive experience in the design and management of transmission and distribution projects in Australia. Managing, coordinating, and administering engineering, procurement; planning of construction, construction phase support, commissioning, and project closeout.

Who are you?

The Key Technical and Management Skills for this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in electrical engineering or relevant discipline

  • Minimum 15-20 years of experience in transmission and distribution sector

  • Extensive experience in relevant infrastructure project development and delivery

  • Subject Matter Expert in transmission & distribution

  • Leadership experience in leading and managing design and development teams

  • Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation highly regarded

  • Well-connected in the utilities and renewable energy zone (REZ) space with a strong professional network

  • The ability to support business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities within the transmission lines and REZ sector to support KBR’s business development

  • Experience with building and maintaining strong relationships with key stake holders to ensure client satisfaction and project success

  • Experience with developing relationships, partners, and government entities in new markets
